Effects of Focusing on Pain Only

Who Am I? A question that arises again and again as I deal with chronic pain and an identity as an old invalided woman with a cane.

Is my identity this? yes, and so much more …

Possible a person gifted in self expression …

In confinement of attention to identity as disabled old woman in pain I unwittingly separate from all of who I am, thereby blinding myself from the potential expansive quality of being, which does bring a sense of gratitude and connection. As a gardener would till and aerate soil, spread fertilizer and turn the soil, to a whole garden, I can do the same when I open to all of my experience in being, not solely focused on one particular facet, pain.
