Meeting with Muni

Adyashanti invited Muni to teach the Dharma in 1999. Since that time, she has taught silent retreats, and satsangs and offered private sessions in the U.S. and Canada. She has worked with autistic and developmentally challenged children, as a nurse, hospice volunteer, and for over twenty-five years as a Yoga/Meditation instructor. Described by Adyashanti as one who “came in already awake,”

Muni has often been misunderstood. She acknowledges her direct experience with true nature as her primary teaching source and inspiration. She has two adult daughters with her husband of 34 years.

Muni’s multiple academic studies have included many interests culminating in a completion of her B.A. in Transpersonal, Somatic and Buddhist Psychology at Naropa University and a year of the Master’s in Contemplative Psychology based on the study of Maitri.

Muni continues to have a special interest in Maitri (loving kindness) and the Five Buddha Family Energies. She holds the title of MI (mindfulness) instructor from Naropa and continues her teaching and work of spiritual support through private meetings.

She is one of 12 women featured in the book Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Wisdom, by Rita Marie Robinson.
